This poster is a one-of-a-kind vintage comedy masterpiece. It depicts a story about a railroad engineer working during the Civil War who is laid off because officials deem that he would be more valuable as an engineer instead of a soldier. Thus his wife/fiance, unaware of his circumstances, think that he is a coward. Then, the General is stolen with his fiance aboard. He then acts as a hero, and saves not only his wife and the train but also defeats the union troops simultaneously. He is than rewarded for being a hero and renews his love with his wife. (This was taken from the Library of Russian Films). This is a poster that was one of the best comedic images ever made in its time. The choice of colors is stunning! The bright pink, orange, and white are excellent color choices. The Buster Keaton suit is none other than genius.
Very interesting story behind this poster. I would have never known that from looking at this bicycle poster!
