Orient Cycles
by: Edward Penfield
A blonde haired man in an orange shirt cycling ahead of his competition on his trust Orient Bicycle. Notice how he has complete confidence in his bicycle. He doesn't even have to look straight ahead. He knows his bike won't fail him. He seems completely at ease even though he is competing in a race.
I think the composition in this vintage poster is marvelous! See how the main male character is glancing to the side which makes your eyes drift to the Orient Cycles heading and text. Then your eyes look behind that and see the other riders, thus making you recognize that he is in a race not just on a joyride. How genius. This would brighten up a plain white wall any day.
